The Hertz Corporation Analyst Environmental Programs Group in Estero, Florida

General Responsibilities:

An Analyst in the Environmental Programs Group is responsible for providing guidance and direction in one’s area of expertise. The primary role is to provide administrative support to field operations in maintaining environmental compliance as mandated by federal, state and local regulations. The secondary objective is to support the Environmental Group as a key contact for specialized areas within ones expertise.

The key responsibilities and accountabilities of a manager in the Environmental Programs Group are to:

  • Ensure operations maintains compliance in their area of expertise

  • Support the Environmental Programs Director in limiting the risk and controlling the liabilities associates with their area of expertise

  • Advise the Environmental Programs Director in areas of deficiencies and develop programs to address in their area of expertise.

  • Provide support to and ensure field operations are environmentally compliant through processing and tracking of environmental related permits, fees and associated requirements.

  • Maintain environmental tracking database for related documentation within area of expertise.

  • Manage projects in their area of expertise

  • Identify and develop procedures or training programs as appropriate to improve compliance in the field in their area of expertise.

  • Manages and controls budgets in their area of expertise and provides estimates to operating units for business planning

  • Resolves violations related to administrative issues in their area of expertise

  • Assist with the management of new installs/upgrades of above and below ground storage systems

  • Effectively communicate project updates to Program Manager and Operations Management

  • Coordinate closeouts and manage job documentation via environmental compliance system

Mandatory Requirements:

Educational Background:

College degree, preferably in environmental or related area, or other degree and relevant experience.

Professional Experience:

3 to 5 years experience in the environmental compliance industry involving managing projects and communications with regulators. In house experience desirable.


  • Previous experience in the area of expertise

  • Environmental regulations/codes as it applies to the area of expertise

  • Familiarity with environmental issues effecting the rental industry or large fleets

  • Experience with underground/aboveground storage tank systems preferred.

  • Knowledge of storage tank system design, installation/removal, operation and/or maintenance a plus


  • Excellent oral and written skills

  • Microsoft Office Software, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload

  • Highly organized
