Hertz Global Learning & Talent Development is seeking an Instructional Designer to develop learning solutions for Hertz Global. In this position, you will be an architect and leader in creating and improving learning products. You will work on instructional design projects that use your expertise in adult learning theory, instructional technologies, and human performance expertise to enhance the performance of Hertz Employees.
The solutions that you create will enable improved employee development, decrease speed to competency, shorten the lead times to learning, increase human performance, and provide performance support at the point of need. This includes developing knowledge and performance observation assessments and strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of training. This role will require close partnership with various business stakeholders to implement the solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Designs and develops instructional activities using various media and related training materials and tools to achieve learning objectives
Partner with business stakeholders to understand program goals and define the learning solution that will make their programs successful
Create performance-focused training content that engages learners, ensuring content is ready for localization and deployment in international marketplaces
Create outstanding learning solutions, performance support aids, assessments, online tutorials, and other materials to meet identified needs
Design and develop effective evaluations/ assessments to measure performance
Deliver Results: manage your projects amidst ambiguity, competing priorities, and challenging deadlines
Conduct in-depth job-task analysis and/or needs assessment to identify learning objectives, training solutions, and other performance enhancement solutions (e.g., management reinforcement, rewards, role clarity, job aids, etc.)
Identify, analyze and assist in the development and rollout of training, workflows, procedure manuals and communications
Create new training programs from inception, with some manager guidance, starting with conducting a formal analysis of training needs. This includes e-learning templates to provide visual and cognitive continuity
BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology, organizational development, etc. is desirable
5+ years of work experience with solid career progression in the field of instructional design, including significant experience in designing and delivering training solutions to large organizations
Solid project management skills including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, working with stakeholders, and doing whatever it takes to deliver reliable results
Prefer experience with Storyline and Captivate authoring tools
Demonstrated experience working with complex content and designing training for multiple deliverymodalities (i.e., ILT, WBL, simulations and virtual) for a global audience
Experience developing training content for localization to multiple languages/cultures
Visual design skills – able to incorporate or create images and graphics that support and enhance learning content
Demonstrated adult learning implementation and driving performance through impactful training.
Demonstrated ability to assess training effectiveness and ROI to stakeholders and leaders.
Exceptional ability to earn trust of subject matter experts and stakeholders
Experience working with learning management systems
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities
Able to travel up to 10-20%
Master's degree in related field
Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate (e.g. CPLP, CPT, PMP, etc.)
Multi-media development in audio, video, and/or animation
Experience with coordination and organization for global initiatives
