The Hertz Corporation Senior Director, Sourcing- CPS in Estero, Florida

General Responsibilities:

Design and execute sourcing strategies for the Hertz CPS category of approximately $450m annual spend. Working collaboratively with business stakeholders develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver continuous cost, performance and process improvements staying current with market trends and best practice.

  • Design and implement sourcing strategies for Hertz North America CPS category including: Marketing, Legal, HR, Finance, Temp Labor, Customer Care, and Facilities services

  • Leverage strong analytical skills to design and execute TCO sourcing projects including strategy development, benchmarking, supplier negotiation, SOW and SLA development, award recommendation, business case presentation, risk management assessment and contract negotiation

  • Identify and resolve strategic supplier issues impacting business. Heavy emphasis on problem solving, relating to supply fulfillment

  • Introduce systems and processes that will improve the sourcing process particularly in complex categories where sourcing solutions must comprehend total cost of ownership

  • Develop effective communication program with Hertz business leaders keeping them informed of corporate programs and processes ensuring maximum compliance

  • Partner with procurement operations supporting the utilization of Oracle ERP and P2P processes with the supply base. Focus on reducing the level of P card spend improving compliance.

  • Perform total cost of ownership evaluations focusing on demand and specification rationalization as well as compliance. Stay current with competitive environment, monitoring and assessing changes that could impact category including, but not limited to supplier M&A activity, legislative change, and technology change.

  • Manage a professional staff with specific focus on recruitment, mentoring and developing talent

  • Collaborate where appropriate with Hertz sourcing teams in Europe to drive consistency and share best practice within Hertz.

Mandatory Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, MBA preferred

  • Professional Qualifications CPSM, CIPS, 6Sigma desired

Professional Experience:

  • 5-10+ years experience in strategic sourcing corporate and professional services, including experience in project management and contracting. Proven experience in designing & executing sourcing strategies that consistently deliver measurable bottom line cost savings in mature commodities.

  • Proven track record in problem solving, challenging the status quo of solutions by designing unique / innovative solutions to address challenging and mature spend categories, either related to limited market options or limited forecasting capability on spend

  • Sourcing experience with a Fortune 500 company, a leading consultancy, or large service industry company is preferred

  • Exposure and experience with Oracle ERP and Oracle contracting modules. Good understanding of operational P2P processes

  • Experience working in a less developed system environment where sourcing solutions require high level of data gathering from suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Experience in leading supplier contract negotiations during company acquisition or divestitures activities an advantage

  • Expert negotiator, solid knowledge of contract language and legislative requirements.

  • Experienced in operating at C Suite and executive level

  • People management experience including track record in recruitment, mentoring and developing talent


  • Knowledge of sourcing related to professional services category, US labor law
