General Responsibilities:

Job purpose

Assist the Director, US Income Tax with all aspects of the maintenance of fixed assets for tax purposes.

Major Accountabilities

  • Assist with the reconciliation processes for the LKE program and interact with the Treasury group to help manage efficient use of cash residing in the LKE Qualified Intermediary.

  • Work closely with the OKC fixed asset team to monitor transactions, provide awareness of tax sensitive issues, and prepare book/tax reconciliations.

  • Maintenance of the tax fixed asset system that prepares the Federal and State tax depreciation and tax gains & losses on non-revenue earning equipment.

  • Preparation of the Federal fixed asset deferred tax reconciliations.

  • Prepare the tax depreciation and tax gains & losses on fixed assets for Canada and Puerto Rico statutory tax returns.

  • Calculation of state depreciation modifications for all applicable states.

  • Provide tax input for financial budgets, forecasts, tax provisions, accounting entries, deferred tax analysis, and financial accounting.

  • Assist in ensuring SOX 404 processes are followed for the fixed asset area. Ensure the proper documentation is prepared and continually monitor the controls and modify the processes as needed.

  • Identify opportunities for process and automation improvements and help develop and implement the improvements.

Mandatory Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Masters’ Degree in Taxation preferred

  • CPA preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of US tax provision and/or compliance experience, with a focus / involvement in the fixed asset area.

Knowledge

  • Income Tax accounting experience

  • Strong “hands on” knowledge in tax fixed asset compliance

  • Experience with HFM, Oracle G.L. & F.A., and BNA F.A. a plus

Skills:

  • Be an active learner that is detail oriented and a proven self-starter with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely and accurately.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to professionally represent the tax department when interacting with other functions in the Company and with outside advisors.
