Job Purpose

  • Provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • The candidate will also be involved in driving continuous process and procedural improvements.

Key Result Areas

  • Prepares internal and external reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.

  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.

  • Review and update the new, renewal and amendments to the lease contract for proper accounting treatment.

  • Ensure leases have been setup in the system to correctly account for rent holidays, incentives or escalating payments on a straight-line basis.

  • Review the FASB 13 lease treatment to ensure the lease has been appropriately classified.

  • Review the terms of the lease to ensure the appropriate information is included in the calculation of the lease liability.

  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.

  • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.

  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.

  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Professional Experience:

  • One to three years of accounting experience.

  • Experience with lease accounting or contract reviews preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Accounting, SFAS Rules, Reporting Skills, Deadline-Oriented, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, PC Proficiency, Productivity, Verbal Communication, General Math Skills, General understanding of the new Lease standard (ASC 842)
