Executive, Internal Communications, Hertz International reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, International [Maternity cover]

Develop and execute upon a robust internal communications strategy and associated programs for both corporate and franchise operations of Hertz International, which comprises all Hertz countries outside of the Americas. This strategy will include supporting executive internal communications for the President of Hertz International, as well steering field and franchise communications and supporting broader employee communications. The incumbent is also a member of the global communications team, and contributes to the overall global communications strategy and deliverables.

Key-result areas

  • Design and develop communication programs and materials to facilitate employee awareness and understanding of Hertz global and International business strategies and in support of employee engagement and cultural transformation efforts.Work closely with key stakeholders to define and shape the communications strategies, goals, messaging, and deliverables.

  • Execute communications strategies, including change communications, aligned with global communications strategies and HR communications strategies.

  • Maintain and evolve internal communications channels, including the International President’s Webcast, Field Communications publication and the International intranet.

  • Actively contribute to the global online magazines (corporate and franchise) by sourcing and writing articles and interviews with executives.

  • Support the Senior Director Communications, International with development and delivery of the executive communications programme for the President of Hertz International, including developing and managing employee and franchise presentations, letters, business updates, business reviews and internal events.

  • Maintain and further develop the field communications strategies and programmes, including communications support for the Top 160 program, annual European Operations Conference and roadshows. Work in closely and provide communications counsel and support to the Counter Sales and Service team.

  • Develop and execute communication strategies for the EMEA Franchisee community to facilitate understanding of corporate strategy and demonstrate value added for franchise partners. Provide communications support and counsel to the internal EMEA Franchise Operations Team.

  • Provide communications guidance for members of the Hertz International Senior Management team, including Operations management (Regional Vice Presidents, General Managers), head of Shared Service Centre and heads of Centres of Expertise.

  • Oversee the management and development of intranet sites for Hertz International and own content and maintenance for the European home page, aligned with other International home pages.

  • Serve as the International internal communications representative on cross-functional, company-wide initiatives.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, human resources, or related field

Professional Experience:

  • Typically 5 to 7 years of experience in organizational communications


Expertise in executive communications, field communications, change communications and broader internal communications on an international scale


  • Expert written and verbal communications skills and presentation development skills
