The Hertz Corporation Claims Coordinator in Calgary, Alberta
Hertz is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Claims Coordinator. He/she will be responsible for document preparations and distributions, correspondences as well as filing and data entry for all Hertz/Dollar Thrifty Auto Damage claims. The individual filling this position must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, including top executives in a high energy and fast paced environment while exercising good judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters.
The duties of the Claims Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:
Receive, review and investigate accident notices and reports; contact appropriate parties and review associated documents.
Receive and respond to inquiries, complaints and requests of customers and insurance companies regarding claim status; negotiate and settle disputed accident claims as required within established parameters.
Receive and respond to customer complaints for breakdown of vehicles and contact tow companies to coordinate pick-up of those vehicles.
Communicate with insurance companies and credit card companies via phone, fax and/or written correspondence for payment of damage coverage and claims.
Process damage-related credit card charges and subrogation of claims; close rental agreements and process billing downtime and all other related charges and forward information to appropriate parties for advisement.
Initiate theft reports for the retrieval of stolen vehicles by providing law enforcement with vehicle data, renter information, and related information as requested; and keep reports updated on the status of stolen vehicles.
Contact outside damage appraisers to inspect and evaluate vehicles with major damages and get estimates; determine whether cost-effective to repair or write-off vehicles and provide associated recommendations to Supervisor; contact salvage companies for bids on written-off vehicles for salvage disposal and/or arrange for vehicles to be sent for repairs.
Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Previous experience in automotive insurance industry an asset
Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Visio, Lotus Notes, Sametime, and Lotus Calendar
(Especially Powerpoint, Word, Publisher, and Excel in production of a multi-file presentation incorporating facets of the various programs)
Excellent communication skills both oral and written.

Handling of both inbound and outbound correspondence via mail, fax, email, phones
