The Hertz Corporation Accounting Manager, Corporate Accounting and Consolidations in Estero, Florida

General Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

This role isresponsible for the review of Corporate Accounting elimination, adjusting and recurring journal entries in addition to the assistance of completion of monthly consolidation procedures. The Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the Company’s financial statements and schedules used in disclosures, as well as internal support schedules. The Company has multiple segments, business operations, two shared service centers and multiple corporate departments and divisions. The consolidated information is included in the Company’s SEC filings, registration statements, and various non-SEC reports.

Key Result Areas:

ACCOUNTING

  • Preparation of the consolidated Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows and Statement of Stockholders’ Equity.

  • Preparation/review of the financial information of guarantors, issuers, non-guarantors and parent company under SEC Regulation S-X, Rule 3.10.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual variance analysis of Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows for all structures.

  • Preparation of various Balance Sheet account rollforwards and underlying support schedules.

  • Assists in all aspects of the annual external audit and quarterly reviews, including the preparation of audit schedules as needed and collaboration with the auditors.

  • Preparation and review of statutory financial statements.

  • Assist in the preparation of the financial sections of registration statements and offering memorandums, as necessary.

  • Various internal reporting.

  • Ensures compliance with Hertz policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

  • Reviews document tie-outs ensuring they are complete and accurate.

  • Is responsible for the coaching, training and development of staff, including semi-annual and annual evaluations.

  • Special projects as needed.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Minimum 6-8 years of accounting and reporting experience, with at least 3-4 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 firm serving publicly traded companies.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations

  • Experience with Oracle, HFM and Blackline strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the above responsibilities and sufficiently direct the work of others

  • Strong at execution, follow-up and attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think “out-of the box”

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to the changing priorities and needs of internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external auditors

  • Strong leadership experience, including excellent interpersonal skills

  • A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization

  • Able to meet deadlines at a fast pace without compromising quality
