The Hertz Corporation Director Global Marketing in Estero, Florida

General Responsibilities

The global marketing organization creates and implements marketing and promotional campaigns across our top geographies. The team is responsible for helping customers understand the superior service and offerings they will receive when they rent with Hertz.

As a Director, you will be responsible for developing, managing and executing go-to-market plans for the regions. You will oversee the internal and external teams and optimize the investments for each market . In partnership with an international multi-functional team, you will develop all of the programing, manage all aspects of the executions and optimize the plans so they meet the global growth targets. You will lead the creative and media development process and manage all agencies and partners. With every activations, you will analyze and optimize the effectiveness of the programs, recommending changes to future executions. This is an outcome based role ultimately responsible for delivering on the brand targets.

This role is for a business leader who is ready to develop breakthrough marketing plans on a global scale. You will be the subject matter expert for the regions, regularly providing updates on the progress of the company investments. Candidate must be comfortable and capable of working with senior management in the US as well as internationally. This is a fast paced role that is idea for an entrepreneurial individual who is ready to define the future growth plans for the company.

Strategy and Planning

  • Analyze the customer needs and current plans and provide clear vision and strategy for each geography

  • Own the activations, partners and investments needed to deliver on the growth goals

  • Enroll all participating regions in the recommendation, ensure projects are aligned to and prioritized across teams

  • Continually optimize the plans, learn from successes and failures and quickly scale the strongest executions across regions

  • Own the annual planning, monthly forecast and budget, risk and incremental opportunities for each region

Executional Leadership

  • Effectively enroll multifunctional teams to the project goals, vision and tactics. Understand the importance of and utilize interpersonal skills to build strong collaborative relationships

  • Problem solve complex issues and find alternative solutions that meet regional and functional needs

Building Capabilities

  • Mentor and coach team members and / or direct reports ensuring success in their roles

  • Responsible for developing and encouraging excellence from a diverse team. Conduct performance evaluations, development planning, and succession planning for direct reports

Marketing Expertise

  • Identify and lead appropriate agency partners (may need to RFP), create and brief marketing/media work, own relationship with key account managers.

  • Develop marketing concepts and creative execution that disproportionally drive awareness and interest in the brand

Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze total market performance, identify gaps and opportunities to drive incremental growth

  • In partnership with Manager and Sr Director, create a scorecard and measure promotional and marketing activation

  • Is capable of and can teach basic business concepts (ex: ROI) and analysis

  • Can translate data and complex sets of information into clear presentations

Mandatory Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience:

The ideal candidate possesses a working knowledge of international marketing, promotions, digital/e-commerce

Has created and executed integrated plans across internal stakeholders and media, PR, creative and promotional agencies

5-10 years of revelant job experience

Business and Technical Knowledge and Skills:

Strong communication skills with the ability to write and present marketing plans to executives and management

Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and effectively follow through under pressure and/or tight deadlines

Limited travel, less than 10% per year

Able to work across different time zones. Some of our calls are with Asia and require either early (7am) or late (7pm) meetings

Preferred Requirements

Education:

Master's Degree Preferred

Foreign language (Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, French or Spanish) preferred but not required
