The Hertz Corporation ETL Developer in Estero, Florida

General Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The ETL developer is responsible for creating and managing ETL processes that load data from various sources into a variety of different backend systems. The ETL developer participates in design, development, testing, execution and quality assurance of both automated and manual data integration and exchange processes.

Key Result Areas:

  • Experience designing and developing ETL jobs using Informatica PowerCenter Platform 10.x.

  • Adhering to software development standards, security standards and company protocols.

  • Ensuring the appropriate data migration plans and execution of such migrations are successful.

  • Complete code reviews for ETLs and related components, and complete documentation of issues identified and action items.

  • Perform unit testing of ETLs and related components and document test results.

  • Develop data filtering, transformation and loading rules from data sources into target databases as specified in the design and requirements

  • Developing good partnerships with business analysts and quality assurance analyst

  • Correct testing defects and support all testing, including but not limited to: Development Integration Testing, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing, End-to-End Testing, and Performance Testing.


Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:

Bachelors in Computer Science, MIS or related field or work-related experience.

Professional Experience/ Knowledge:

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, including 2 years of experience with Big Data platforms

  • Knowledge of ETL enterprise-grade technologies such as Informatica Power Center, DataStage, and others

  • Knowledge of database technology on both OLTP and Data Warehouse data platforms such as Oracle, Postgres, Teradata, Redshift, Hadoop, among others

  • Experience designing resilient, well-controlled, self-monitored, scalable, and high performing ETL processes

  • Experience tuning SQL queries and ETL processes

  • Experience working in an agile environment

  • Experience with data analysis

  • Experience working in an agile environment

  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Javascripts, SQL and Unix scripting


  • Must be able to meet critical deadlines for high visibility projects.

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organization skills including the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external customers

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work constructively while under pressure
