The Hertz Corporation Sr Director, End User Computing in Estero, Florida

General Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

The Sr. Director, Infrastructure Services will have responsibility for multiple IT services including Messaging Platforms, Desktop/Mobile Technologies, Software Management, Conferencing Technologies and all field service-related technologies and projects. The selected candidate will oversee and manage operational support of the above services to ensure strategic and operational alignment with business objectives. This dynamic leader will forge strong partnerships and collaborative relationships with institutional and functional leadership.

Key Result Areas:

  • Develops and implements operating departmental methodologies that insure smooth, professional, and responsive IT operations

  • Manages IT Services; E-Mail, IM, Desktop/Mobility Services, Audio/Web/Video conferencing, PC software management and all field systems (kiosks, PoS, tablets, etc.).

  • Design, maintain and deliver systems to improve the availability, scalability, speed and efficiency

  • Contributes to and assists with the implementation of the departmental technology roadmap; plans change to staffing and infrastructure as required.

  • Oversees the critical path level management of resources and systems.

  • Leads IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by monitoring service/performance levels, fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.

  • Leads the formulation and deployment of long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information processing and communication technologies.

  • Defines and establishes IT Department operational and strategic planning, goals, objectives, and operating procedures.

  • Identifies and proposes opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including improvements, re-engineering, staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.

  • Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis for IT spending and initiatives.

  • Directs the development, ongoing maintenance, and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan for the above services.

  • Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry; advises, counsels and educates executives and management on their impact.

  • Promotes and oversees strategic relationships between internal IT resources and all levels of the organization

  • Assesses and proposes the emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the corporation that will significantly impact the enterprise

  • Provides consultation/expertise on complex projects and other IT activities.

  • Evaluates and implements IT processes and procedures for maximum efficiency and cost containment.

  • Develop IT business plans and budget plans that support both the long-term and the short-term objectives of the company.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration/Accounting, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience. Prefer advanced degree.

Professional Experience:

  • 10+ years IT experience related to IT Infrastructure and IT Operations

  • 5+ years of IT Infrastructure leadership experience at a Sr. Manager or Director/Sr. Director level

  • Prior Management experience leading or sponsoring large-scale technical initiatives across an enterprise of 10K+ users

  • PMP and ITIL certifications preferred

Knowledge:

  • Must have a basic understanding of all product and service needs, and must maintain knowledge of changing technologies

  • Experience implementing and tracking service levels and reporting metrics and KPIs

  • Thorough knowledge of ITIL Process and Procedures for IT Service Management

  • Experience developing processes and implementing policies and procedures

  • Experience monitoring supplier contracts, specifically tracking performance toward statements of work or service descriptions

  • Prior experience providing IT support across wide geographical area(s)

  • Experience performing in a cross functional and outsourced environment

  • Prior experience supporting Infrastructure hardware and software components across a large enterprise

Skills:

  • Ability to work on projects that range in size, complexity and duration.

  • Ability to motivate and manage teams to work towards common goals and objectives.

  • Significant experience in deploying large scale technical solutions

  • Excellent Communications skills: Written, Verbal and ability to present material to senior and executive management teams

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with an attention to detail
