The Hertz Corporation Sr. Accountant in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

General Responsibilities

  • Financially manages all “Day to Day” financial transactions with minimal supervision from Manager

  • Insures compliance with Hertz policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

  • Supervision of Accounting Staff

  1. Reviews and approves (Med risk) General Ledger Account Reconciliations and month-end journal entries

  2. Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures

  3. Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis .

  4. Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties.

  5. Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed

  6. Assists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.

  7. Increased analytics pertaining to actual results /financial reports and measuring performance of critical processes (Financial Reporting)

  8. Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions including strong communications with applicable business partners

Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting

MBA and /or CPA is a plus

Professional Experience:

4-7 years


  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access (test required)


  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills. .

  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.

  • The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.

  • Strong Management skills
