The Hertz Corporation Value Added Ancillary Sales Manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

General Responsibilities

The Area Revenue Manager (ARM) for will be a key member of the field Merchandising and Ancillary Revenue team, and will lead the management at the area locations to implement learning and strategies that maximize the Company’s sales performance. Merchandising and Ancillary Revenue is a key component to the success of location in the field and this position is an exciting career opportunity in an entrepreneurial culture.

This role serves as a strategic business partner with the GM/AM Location Management liaising with corporate M&AR, HR and Operations. The position is focused on driving ancillary revenue performance management from the local-level with select support from airport ZRM and Location Management staff where necessary to support the entire area. The RRM will be focused on deep knowledge of market conditions and development of staffing to support the revenue performance. Development of analysis and business recommendations to influence performance.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


  • Lead and engage the location management team in identifying the vision, goals, roadmap, and strategies for ancillary revenue acceleration

  • Communicate vision and priorities to a wide variety of cross-functional internal stakeholders and Region/Zone leadership

  • Deliver innovative merchandising methods, product evolution, and improved operational efficiency

  • Conduct Field assessments to identify new opportunities and support operational success

  • Develop organizational capabilities and model Hertz guiding principles · Onboard and mentor a growing team of frontline employees within the area

  • Build and maintain a wide network of information and resources that support all levels of performance

  • Support the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Company

Planning and Execution

  • Develop strategic and operational ancillary revenue plans for the locations, manage execution, and measure results

  • Understand and apply traditional financial measures common to the car rental industry

  • Conduct analyses that produce actionable results and report on key metrics to locations

  • Communicate and educate the locations on changes in revenue management policies and practices within the organization

Mandatory Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree from a top academic program required. Marketing, Strategy, General Management, or Hospitality Management preferred

Professional Experience:

  • Ideal candidates will have experience in at least one of the following areas: 2 – 5+ years sales and revenue management development and / or consumer analytics experience in the travel/hospitality industries (Car Rental, Airline, Hotel, or Cruise Line), or retail industry


  • Demonstrated experience with industry and market trends as they relate to revenue opportunities, and the ability to drive revenue generation

  • Prior Management experience leading sales initiatives

  • Experience developing and managing business requirements

  • Must have a basic understanding of all product and service needs, and must maintain knowledge of changing technologies

  • Experience implementing, tracking, and reporting performance metrics

  • Experience developing processes and implementing policies and procedures


  • Ability to lead projects that range in size, complexity and duration

  • Highly self-motivated and directed with an attention to detail

  • Strong background in strategic problem solving and data driven analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills comfort communicating across all levels within the organization

  • Effective organization and time management skills with ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, ability to complete complex analysis using Excel and other automation tools and present findings in a succinct manner
